Commissioning Management

The main objective of Commissioning Management is to manage the overall commissioning activities, including programming, to achieve the project completion date. A risk of project overrun will exist unless the interdependencies of all the building services systems and plant are identified, together with their integration with ongoing construction activities. This complex, often highly fragmented part of the construction process demands good management.

TFT can provide independent commissioning managers, Engineers and technicians to operate within existing project teams or as a standalone consulting function in the following areas; Review design drawings and specifications for commissioning requirements and advise.

Review and supervise the installation with respect to compliance with specifications for Commissioning. Develop flushing, chemical cleaning and commissioning method statements for both process and utility systems. Assist in developing the overall commissioning program, witness and validate factory/site acceptance tests.

Prepare and issue project specific pro-forma sheets, including interface and performance test, plus Develop commissioning database to monitor all progress. Update and issue at regular intervals.

Monitor and witness progressive installation and pre-commissioning ensuring accurate recording of all results, in accordance with method statements. Give guidance as necessary at the time of start-up of plant equipment / machinery. Prepare to test and commissioning reports incorporating all plant and system test results.

Monitor and advise on the preparation of the O & M’s.

Assist in the production of the cause & effects matrix and witness the testing of all the life safety systems.
